Design your family Moon phase poster
Add a Moon for each person, up to four: a name, the place and the date and time of their night. Each Moon is computed for its own place and instant from the Moon’s true angle to the Sun, then drawn from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter imagery lit from that angle. A Moon from south of the equator is turned the way it looked there.
Every Moon is captioned with its name, date, place and phase. Pick one of 26 styles, set your title (it starts as The Moons of Us), and order it as an instant digital file, a print or a framed poster.
- What date should I use?
- Whichever moment the chart is meant to mark: a wedding night, a birth, a first date, or a day someone is remembered. The sky is computed for that exact timestamp, read in the place’s own time zone.
- How accurate is it?
- Every visible star is placed from its Hipparcos catalogue position for your date and location, planets from their true positions, and the Moon from its true angle to the Sun. The engine is checked against astropy, the software professional astronomers use. How we measure it.
- Which layouts can I design here?

- The preview is free. A digital download is $19.99, prints start at $39.99 and framed posters at $79.99, in 11×14, 12×16, 18×24 or 24×36 inches; the 8-inch wall clock is $74.99. The same sky can be engraved on a 20 mm coin necklace, from $79.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Design and preview as long as you like; an email is only needed at checkout to send your order.
