Design your Moon phase poster
Enter a place, date and time and we compute the Moon’s phase for that instant from its true angle to the Sun, then light NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter surface from that angle. The poster prints the phase name and how much of its face was lit; from the southern hemisphere the Moon is turned the way it looked there.

- What date should I use?
- Whichever moment the chart is meant to mark: a wedding night, a birth, a first date, or a day someone is remembered. The sky is computed for that exact timestamp, read in the place’s own time zone.
- How accurate is it?
- Every visible star is placed from its Hipparcos catalogue position for your date and location, planets from their true positions, and the Moon from its true angle to the Sun. The engine is checked against astropy, the software professional astronomers use. How we measure it.
