How the star map necklace is made

We calculate the sky for your exact place, date and time from the Hipparcos star catalogue, the same data astronomers use, then redraw it for a fibre laser: every star brighter than magnitude 3.7 (about 200 to 250 of them, the brightest engraved largest), the constellations that join them, and nothing too fine to engrave cleanly on 20 mm of metal. Each design is checked by hand before it is engraved on a 20 mm coin in stainless steel ($79), 18k gold plated or 18k rose gold plated ($89), with your words around the rim if you want them. It is made in 2 to 5 business days and ships free to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU and Australia, in a gift box over a card printed with your message.
