Each circle is a separate calculation. The stars come from the Hipparcos catalogue, positioned for that place’s latitude and longitude at the exact instant you entered, converted from local time with the place’s own time zone and daylight-saving rules. The two skies are never copies of each other: two places on the same night show two different skies.
If you turn on planets, they are placed from their true positions for each night. The constellation lines, the Milky Way and every style option apply to both circles, so the pair reads as one poster.
Every order is made from the file you approve in the preview. Prints are landscape: an 18 × 24 in poster is 24 in wide and 18 in tall.
