About this tool
Make a Birth Poster Online
Enter where and when your baby was born, then their name, weight and length. We compute the real night sky over that place at that minute, with the moon as it was, and set their details underneath. The preview above updates as you type.
Pick a nursery colourway, add a line from you, and order it as an instant digital file or a printed poster, framed or unframed. Every print ships free.
- What time should I use?
- The time on their birth record. The sky turns a little every minute, so the exact time gives the exact sky. If you only know the day, any time that evening still shows that night’s stars.
- Pounds or kilograms?
- Either. Weight takes lb and oz or kg, length takes inches or centimetres, and the poster prints whichever you choose.
- What is the star for a future birthday?
- A bright star roughly as many light-years away as a birthday to come. The light it sent on the night they were born reaches Earth around that birthday, and the poster names it.
